YEAR ROUND AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING
83 Shank Painter Road (83 SPR) is a renovation of a former rooming house for seasonal workers, newly constructed in 2000.
After complete renovation, 83 SPR will include 12 one-room efficiency apartments (two handicap accessible) and 3 two-room efficiency apartments (one handicap accessible), for year-round residents. One commercial space on the first floor is occupied by the Herring Cove Animal Hospital.
Each unit includes a full kitchen with cook-top, oven, and refrigerator; and bathroom with shower. Heat, electricity, cooking fuel and hot water are included in the rent. Basic cable TV and internet will be available at a modest charge.
Parking is not included in the rent. Residents have the first option for one of eight spaces, for $18.75/month.
Basement storage units in various sizes and configurations are available for rent, beginning at $27.50/month. Residents will have first option before space is offered to the general public.
This is a NON-SMOKING residence.
Renovation is currently underway and anticipated occupancy is June 2012 or earlier.

DHCD’s mission is to strengthen cities, towns, and neighborhoods to enhance the quality of life of Massachusetts residents.
Mass Housing Affordable Housing Trust Fund
The AHTF provides resources to create or preserve affordable housing throughout the state for households whose incomes are not more than 110% of median income.
Massachusetts Housing Partnership Fund
MHP is a statewide public non-profit affordable housing organization that works with the Governor and DHCD to increase the supply of affordable housing.
Provincetown Community Preservation Act
CPA funds, from a 3% property tax surcharge, are used for affordable housing, historic preservation and open space initiatives.
Barnstable County HOME Consortium
The HOME Consortium awards federal HOME Investments Partnership funds to provide affordable housing opportunities.
